Tropical Paradise Inc. was established in 1993 on Long Island, NY by Frank Massabni who moved to the United States in 1989 at the age of sixteen.  Frank began the business by selling frozen drinks mixed in blenders to hotels, movie theatres and beach clubs.

As the business grew it was clear that higher capacity equipment was needed in place of blenders.  In 1994 TPI began importing granita (frozen slush) machines from Italy.  The new equipment allowed the business to handle larger volume customers and introduce new products.

In 1995 other distributors began purchasing equipment from TPI and a new division of the Company was created, Tropical Machines.

By the end of 1996, Tropical Paradise made yet another decision to create its own product brand; Cool Tropics.  The product line included 0% and 10% juice slush concentrate.

By the end of 1997 TM introduced a customized design for the FSM Granita Machine.  Tropical Machines is the only company in the US today (as far as they know) to market their own proprietary granita machine as part of a complete program.

In late 2002 Tropical Paradise introduced the first (as far as they know) frozen slush containing 100% juice in a shelf stable concentrate.    

At the end of 2003 TPI decided to restructure the sales emphasis of the business to focus on schools due to emerging wellness initiatives and changes in nutritional guidelines.  The school market was far less susceptible to the impact of weather or the economic climate.

In June of 2005 TPI added a VP of Sales, Bill Crosby, who was a 24 year veteran in beverage sales.  Sales continued to double in 2005 as they had for the two previous years.

In June of 2006 TPI moved from Long Island, NY to their new home office in Bedford, MA.  New staff members were added;  Dana Langley (Finance and Accounting Manager), Lacey Mikoluk (Customer Service).

In 2007 three new team members joined the business; Nancy Hartigan (National Sales Coordinator), Lilly Manolis (Operations Manager) and Tom Rykalsky (Southeast Regional Sales).

Tropical Paradise Inc. has grown to be the national leader in 100% juice slush for schools.  Cool Tropics is represented in 35 states and is currently served in 10 of the top 40 public schools in the nation.
